Robert served 10 years in the U.S. Army. His first 3 years were as a Sniper in Special Operations Command. The last 7 years of Robert’s military career were as an M1A1 Tank Commander. He is a decorated Combat Veteran having served as a Tank Commander in Desert Shield and Desert Storm. Robert also spent time as a Dignitary Protection Specialist, protecting and driving for the 1st Armor Division Commanding General in Germany before Desert Shield. Awards received include: 1st Armor Division Combat Patch, Bronze Star, Army Commendation Medal x4, and Good Conduct Medal x5.

Robert has been training dogs for over 30 years. He started his formal training in 1988 when he was allowed to join a Schutzhund Training Club in Germany. No American had ever been allowed to join such clubs in Germany at that time, but due to Robert’s natural ability to work and communicate well with dogs, Robert was welcomed into the club. This started his passion for training dogs and people.

After getting out of the Military, Robert spent 2 years working Explosive Detection Dogs in Iraq, for the U.S. State Department as a Dignitary Protection Agent, with Blackwater.

Robert also spent 2 years in Kosovo as a Police Station Commander where he oversaw the station’s Patrol and Narcotic Detection Dog Teams.

Awards received include the U.S. State Department Commendation Award.

Robert opened Leader of the Pack Dog Training in 2009. He was talked into starting his own business by another local dog trainer due to Robert’s ability to work with aggressive, hard to handle, and large breed dogs.

Since then Robert has trained hundreds of dogs and owners in disciplines such as; Basic and Advanced Obedience, Puppy Training, Behavioral Issues, Socialization, Tracking, Canine Nose Work, Antler (Shed) Search, Truffles Search, and Protection Dog. Robert is a recognized AKC Canine Good Citizen Evaluator and AKC Temperament Evaluator.

Robert has also trained and donated dogs to Law Enforcement agencies in Washington State, New Mexico, and Texas. On occasion, Robert also has trained dogs for sale.
